I woke up at 5AM and panicked... I need to hit the grocery store, the
sporting goods store, etc. Then I realized after 30 seconds that I was
ZEROING! I pulled the covers over my head and zonked for another 2
hours. It was awesome.
When I got up for good, I started my onslaught of blog picture
posting, which was long overdue. This brought back some great
memories, albeit recent ones. It was a mexican themed day, so Steph
made some delicious chorizo breakfast burritos... The theme continued.
Jay, Smoke and I headed to the Wegmans for our resupply and our Sunday
Funday preparations. J&S were having friends come by in the
afternoon... Which was great to meet some new peeps and also see my
bff's Donna and Dorian. We chilled by the new pool, relaxed, got some
sun and hung with friends. It was a perfect diversion from busting our
butts on the trail.
Then the fish tacos and margaritas... Oh the fish tacos. Jay rocked
his fryer, he made some amazing pico de gallo, and la crema. They were
beyond authentic. A bunch of the east coasters never had them before.
They were all really impressed and might not realize the fish taco
expertise they had in their midst. Smoke and I explained the basics of
trail magic and trail angels to J&S. Steph was amped as she has trail
angel written all over her. There's talks in the works for a big trail
magic party during next years thru-hiking season.
We watched the Celts game... Which if they can maintain the defensive
intensity they showed in Game 5, those guys are all set. The lakers
should have all rocked Kobe jerseys because he was their whole team
last night.
We'll be headed back to Duncannon with heavy feedbags but fresh legs
tomorrow. Time to push to Dirty Jerz. Huge thanks to J&S for their
enormous hospitality to a couple of stinky hikers. You guys have no
idea how much a boost this weekend gave us. Donna, Dorian... It was so
great you ladies were able to swing in from what must have been a
tiring roadtrip from
Philly just to spend some time with us. Thank you all so much.
