sister threw a great going away party that night and then I attended
my last company Christmas party on Saturday. The outpouring of well-
wishes from everyone felt really good. I'm blessed to have such great
friends and worked with such an amazing company.
But on the other hand, it was so difficult to shake hands and say
goodbye to people that have become such good friends. My friend and
former co-worker Ashlynn gave me some wisdom at the Xmas party. Having
given up her job with HP to take care of her new son, she had already
experienced what I was going through on Saturday night. She said that
separating yourself from the company and the new friends would be
painful, but after the farewells, the excitement for the next steps
will fill the void enough to put the disappointment behind me. She was
right. The excitement is setting in and honestly, with all the packing
I have to do before dad arrives on Thursday, I won't have much time to
dwell on anything else. Nate
