Ankle Update

What the doctor said:

"Wah wah wah thru-hiker Wah wah wah. Well you're getting to that age!
Wah wah wah. Don't worry I have small hands. Wah wah wah. Oh! It's
your ankle! Sorry! Put your pants back on. Wah wah wah. Does it hurt
when I do this? Wah wah Talonavicular ligament wah wah. You're well
put together! wah wah wah."

What I heard: "Take off the skirt, Sally. You're well put together!"

Yes! I'll take a bruised ego, a couple days rest and a flattering yet
mildly "banjo-musically" tainted comment from a medical professional
over a cracked ankle bone any day of the week. He thinks it's a
strained or sprained talonavicular ligament. Look it up, wikiphytes. I
need a few days off, lots of ice and a light brace. Seriously... All I
needed to hear was NO hiker F-word... Fracture. X-rays negative.

Lastly... I love Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. Registration, forms
filled out, admitting, nurse, doctor, x-rays, doctor again, nurse
again, release... 1 hour 15 minutes. I think I was the only patient.
And they are Blue Cross covered! Thank god! Thanks for all the well
wishes everyone! It's awesome you are all watching and pulling for me!

Looking forward to uploading more photos tomorrow, and seeing who
strolls into Uncle Johnny's over the next few days.
